Surveying the Situation in Iraq to Prepare a Mission

Erbil (Irak) – A three-member expert group of Hungarian Baptist Aid (HBAid) travelled to Iraq to be informed about the humanitarian situation after the offensive in Mosul that caused three thousand families to leave their homes. They met with leaders of local refugee camps, with local representatives of international aid organizations, with Peshmerga military leaders and with Hungarian officials operating in Erbil.

Hope for disabled children in Vietnam

Living with moving disability in Vietnam carries a stigma and is almost definitely bring poverty to the family. The mother or grandmother needs to stay home to provide 24-hour care to the child who can not move, eat, dress and do all every day activities we take for granted. People living in this South East Asian poor, but developing country, struggle enough to earn living when all family members including all children work. When somebody can not work that makes a painful debt in the financial security of the family.

16 organisations (half of which are Volonteurope members) embarked on the tailored technical assistance that will guide them along their path for accreditation within new EU initiative – EU Aid Volunteers. This new initiative has the aim of opening new opportunities for sending volunteers from across Europe into third-countries (non-EU countries) and fostering new partnerships with non-EU – hosting organisations.
