Roma Programs
Hungarian Baptist Aid reaches out to Hungarian-speaking Roma communities living in the country, in Transylvania and in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine near the Hungarian border.
In addition to the ongoing financial and social support, mission trips are organized in cooperation with Baptist Men and Women on Mission. The American groups hold bible summer camps for children with a joint effort with the volunteers and employees of Hungarian Baptist Aid. Furthermore, several medical groups visit Roma patients, who would otherwise have no access to any kind of health care.
A Roma Bible School has also been started. Roma pastors and church ministers gather from Eastern Hungary, from the Transcarpathian region and from Székelyhíd, Romania. They are instructed by pastors and teachers coming from North Carolina. The classes are interpreted by the employees of Hungarian Baptist Aid.
