In the beginning, HBAid worked near the border in Tovarnik, and helped at the registration camp of Opatovac. The aid organization helped the migrants waiting for registration, and also the ones who were staying at the camp temporarily. The Hungarian and foreign volunteers worked mostly at night time distributing food, drinks, fruit and other donations, such as hygienic packages, blankets, sleeping bags, clothes and baby food. There were exceptional works too, when the helpers had to find family members whom lost each other. During the winter season, the Croatian authorities built a new and winterized camp in Slavonski Brod, where HBAid continued its aid activities co-operating with other Croatian and foreign organizations.
