The group of volunteers representing Rescue 24 International Fire-fighter and Search and Rescue Team reached second place behind a rescue team from Florida, USA and was the only one from Europe to stand on the podium. The contestants making up Rescue 24’s award-winning group were Eleonóra Kovács, an emergency doctor; Attila Horváth, an ambulance officer; Ondrej Kovac fire-brigade officer and vehicle driver and László Pavelcze EMT, the disaster management director of Baptist Aid.
Hungary was represented by two teams. The second team was from Budaörs of the Hungarian National Ambulance Service. Their team reached 11th place in the contest of rescue units without a doctor, outstripping, among others, even the Canadian and American ambulance team.
